Jo Bailey Counselling & Psychotherapy

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website at https://www.jobaileycounsellingandpsychotherapy.co.uk/ and, where applicable, your purchase or booking of services offered through the website.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using the website.

1. About the website

This website is operated by Jo Bailey Counselling & Psychotherapy (“I”, “me”, “my”, “the Practice”, or “Jo Bailey”).

The Practice provides information about psychotherapy, clinical supervision, organisational supervision, training and workshops.

The website currently describes services including psychotherapy, clinical supervision, organisational supervision, bespoke training and workshops for psychotherapists and trainees.

2. Website information

I aim to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date.

However, the website is provided for general information and does not constitute medical, psychiatric, psychological or other professional advice to any individual who has not entered into a professional relationship with me.

Information on the website should not be relied upon as a substitute for assessment or treatment appropriate to your individual circumstances.

3. No emergency or crisis service

This website and my contact channels are not an emergency or crisis service.

I cannot guarantee an immediate response to enquiries, emails, telephone messages or contact-form submissions.

If you are in immediate danger, believe you may harm yourself or someone else, or require urgent medical or mental-health assistance, please contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service in your area rather than relying on this website or waiting for a response from me.

4. Psychotherapy services

Information about psychotherapy on this website is intended to help prospective clients decide whether to make an enquiry.

Making an enquiry does not create a therapist-client relationship.

A therapeutic relationship will only begin following appropriate assessment, agreement between us and completion of the relevant client contracting arrangements.

The terms applying to an individual psychotherapy relationship will be set out separately in the relevant therapeutic agreement.

5. Clinical supervision and organisational services

Supervision, consultation and organisational services will be subject to the arrangements agreed between the Practice and the relevant client, organisation or professional.

Where appropriate, separate written terms, contracts or agreements will apply.

6. Workshops and training

The Practice may offer workshops and training sessions from time to time.

The website may provide information about:

  • dates and times;
  • prices;
  • session content;
  • delivery method;
  • eligibility;
  • booking arrangements;
  • materials supplied.

Specific workshop or training terms may also be provided at the point of booking.

The Practice reserves the right to make reasonable changes to workshop content, dates, speakers, delivery methods or arrangements where necessary.

If a workshop or training session has to be cancelled or materially changed by the Practice, reasonable arrangements will be offered, which may include an alternative date, transfer to another session or refund, as appropriate.

7. Prices and payment

Prices displayed on the website are those applicable at the time of publication unless otherwise stated.

The website currently displays fees including psychotherapy appointments at £60, clinical supervision at £65 per hour, bespoke training at £600 per day and certain workshops at £60 per workshop.

Prices may change in the future. A price change will not affect a booking that has already been accepted unless otherwise agreed.

Where payment is required, payment must be made using the payment method and within the timeframe specified at booking.

8. Bookings and acceptance

A request to book a service does not necessarily mean that the booking has been accepted.

A booking becomes confirmed when the Practice has accepted the booking and, where applicable, payment has been received.

The Practice may decline a booking where there is a reasonable professional, practical or administrative reason for doing so.

9. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation arrangements for psychotherapy, supervision, workshops and training may differ and will normally be communicated as part of the relevant booking or client agreement.

Where consumer cancellation rights apply to a distance contract for services, those rights will be respected.

For certain services, the statutory 14-day cancellation period may apply, subject to the applicable legal exceptions. The Consumer Contracts Regulations provide specific rules concerning cancellation of distance service contracts and services that begin during the cancellation period.

If you ask for a service to begin during a statutory cancellation period, the Practice may require the appropriate express request and acknowledgement required by law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Fair and reasonable terms

These Terms & Conditions are intended to operate fairly and transparently.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Consumer contracts must not contain unfair terms, and terms attempting to exclude responsibility for matters such as death or personal injury caused by negligence cannot be enforced.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website, including text, graphics, photographs, logos, branding, layout and other materials, belongs to the Practice or is used with permission.

You may view the website and print or download reasonable extracts for your personal, non-commercial use.

You must not:

  • reproduce substantial parts of the website for commercial purposes;
  • copy or republish website content without permission;
  • alter or commercially exploit website materials;
  • remove copyright or other proprietary notices;
  • present the Practice’s content as your own.

Workshop slides, handouts and other training materials supplied to participants may be subject to additional copyright and usage restrictions.

Unless expressly permitted, workshop and training materials are for the personal or professional use of the participant and must not be reproduced, resold or distributed commercially.

12. Third-party websites and services

The website may contain links to third-party websites or services.

Those websites are not controlled by the Practice and I am not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or terms.

You should review the terms and privacy policies of third-party websites before using them.

13. Website availability

I aim to keep the website available and functioning properly, but I do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors.

The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, hosting issues or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

14. Security

You must not attempt to:

  • gain unauthorised access to the website;
  • interfere with its operation;
  • introduce malicious software;
  • circumvent security measures;
  • use the website for unlawful purposes.

I reserve the right to restrict or terminate access where I reasonably believe that the website is being misused.

15. Links to this website

You may link to the website provided that you do so lawfully and fairly and do not suggest that the Practice endorses or is associated with another organisation where that is not the case.

The website must not be framed or embedded in a way that misrepresents its ownership or purpose.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.

Subject to that limitation, the Practice will not be responsible for losses arising from:

  • reliance on general information provided on the website where that information was not intended to constitute individual professional advice;
  • temporary unavailability of the website;
  • third-party websites or services;
  • events outside my reasonable control;
  • information supplied incorrectly by a website user.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Events outside reasonable control

I will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing services where this results from circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including serious illness, technical failures, internet or telecommunications failures, natural disasters, government action, power failures or other significant disruptions.

Where reasonably possible, I will communicate with affected clients or participants and seek an appropriate alternative arrangement.

18. Professional boundaries

Use of this website, email, telephone or other contact channels does not create an obligation for the Practice to accept you as a psychotherapy client.

Professional services are subject to appropriate assessment, availability, suitability and contracting.

I reserve the right not to commence or to end a professional relationship where this is professionally appropriate, subject to any applicable contractual and ethical obligations.

19. Privacy

Your use of this website is also subject to the Practice’s Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected and used and how you can exercise your data protection rights.

20. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The latest version will be published on this website and will show the date on which it was last updated.

Changes will not retrospectively alter rights or obligations that have already arisen under an existing agreement unless permitted by law.

21. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights concerning jurisdiction.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
